Juan Manuel Gómez Vargas, Founder of Vanguard Biotech Systems, leads the development of NextGenAMR, a genomic antimicrobial-resistance intelligence platform in development.
His work starts from a simple conviction: genomic AMR interpretation should not stay trapped between disconnected scripts, spreadsheets and processes no one can audit. The goal is not another pipeline, but a controlled layer designed so that analysis, interpretation, reporting and governance live in one auditable workflow.
His focus is rigorous bioinformatics, security-aware design and honest, auditable interpretation over hype. NextGenAMR is in development and no performance results have been published: reliability is earned before it is claimed.

NextGenAMR — a genomic antimicrobial-resistance intelligence platform in development, designed to turn bacterial whole-genome sequencing into probabilities of resistance with explicit uncertainty or an abstention, for professional review. It is not a clinical diagnosis and has no regulatory authorisation or declaration of conformity for clinical diagnostic use.
